We're happy to report that our Walk-A-Thon was a great success! Along with many family members who came out to join them, our students and staff made the most of this event and had so much fun getting some exercise and celebrating their fundraising efforts! Thanks to your generosity, we raised $20,794, exceeding our $20,000 goal! Wow! We truly appreciate your partnership and support and could not have been successful in this fundraising endeavor without you! And a sincere thanks to all of our volunteers who donated their time to ensure this event ran smoothly! We look forward to utilizing all proceeds to fund The Leader in Me, field trips & alternative education experiences in the classroom, author visits & other educational programs benefiting all Fouse Students. Pancake Breakfast - Drawing Contest Entries Due 10/6 Attention, Fouse Foxes…let’s see your artwork! This past week, students were sent home with an entry flier for our Pancake Breakfast Drawing Contest! Students are encouraged to draw a picture that they think best represents Fouse’s Pancake Breakfast and/or the Fall season. Entries are due on Friday, October 6th and the winner of the contest will be announced on Wednesday, October 11th. The winning drawing(s) will be featured on this year’s Pancake Breakfast flier. A copy of the contest entry flier is attached for your reference. Classroom Parties - Communication, Planning & Community Service This Friday, September 29th, a letter with details about this year's Classroom Parties will be sent home in your child's backpack. If you have not already heard from them, the lead room parents for your class will be in contact with parents soon to get the planning started for our first party of the year, the Fall Harvest Party, which is on Friday, October 13th. A generic copy of the letter that will be sent home is also attached to this email for your reference. During each Classroom Party, we would like not only for our students to have a fun, memorable time celebrating a special time of year, but we would also like to include an element of community service and giving. For the Fall Harvest Party, the PTO is partnering with the Fouse Staff Service Leaders Committee for a project called "Fouse Funds for Florida". As a school, we will be donating spare change to help with the hurricane relief effort in Florida. Our main goal is to connect with a specific elementary school and help support them directly during this challenging time. We will kick off our Fund for Florida drive during the Fall Party by collecting spare change and having a card-making station during the party, so that our students have the opportunity to make a card and/or write a letter of encouragement to students at the school we will be supporting. The collection will conclude on Tuesday, October 31st. Additional details will be provided to Lead Room Parents and all parents as the event gets closer. At this time, we simply wanted to make you aware of our plan for the Fouse community to come together and help a school in need. Thanks for your support! Fall Book Fair - Volunteers Needed Our Fall Book Fair is quickly approaching and it's time to start gathering volunteers! The Book Fair will take place Monday, October 23rd through Thursday, October 26th, during the week of conferences. The operation and success of our Book Fair is totally dependent on volunteer participation. If you are able to assist us, please use this link to sign up for a shift: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b49a4af29a75-october1 Start Gathering Your Box Tops - Fall Contest Starts Soon! Other forms include permission for walking field trips and photograph permissions. It really doesn't take long to do and safety information for your children is very important for Fouse to have. If you have any questions regarding the completion of your forms, please contact Amy Emler at [email protected]. Donations Requested - Neckties for Music Class If you have any old neckties in your closet that you're looking to donate, Mrs. Stout would really appreciate you sending them into school with your student! We are excited to announce that for this year's Walk-A-Thon, ALL Fouse students will receive a free t-shirt! In partnership with the PTO, two businesses - Shirck Orthodontics and Northstar Family Dental - donated $500 each towards these shirts for our students. We truly thank them for their support of Fouse and encourage you to consider them the next time you and your family are in need of the services they provide. Shirts will be sent home with all students on Tuesday, 9/19, and we ask that ALL STUDENTS WEAR THEIR SHIRT TO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, 9/22, FOR THE WALK-A-THON!!!!
