Schedule For The Week
1/23 (Mon)......E Day 1/24 (Tues).....F Day 1/25 (Wed)......A Day 1/26 (Thurs)....B Day (Early Release, 2:30pm) 1/27 (Fri)........C Day The Leader in Me Comes to Fouse! On January 3, more than 45 staff members gave up their teacher workday to complete one of three training days required for implementing an exciting new program at Fouse. Leader in Me is an elementary program designed around Steven Covey’s The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, which has been widely used in the business world for many years. The Seven Habits are based on powerful principles such as responsibility, vision, respect, teamwork, and balance. It is a proven philosophy for adults and teens. This program applies these principles to children. This ongoing initiative will foster leadership roles for all students throughout their classrooms and the school. It will also emphasize the implementation of goal setting and tracking personal and school-related goals. The projects that will be added over the next four years include school character assemblies, community luncheons with civic leaders, and community outreach projects. The program is currently being funded through Fouse PTO, student fundraising proceeds and a grant from the Delaware County Foundation. - See more at: http://www.westerville.k12.oh.us/11/News/5205#sthash.RNPknOL7.dpuf Valentine's Classroom Parties - Friday, 2/10 The Lead Room Parents in each classroom are starting to plan your students' Valentine's Classroom Parties, which are scheduled for Friday, 2/10, at 2:30pm(10:30am for AM K classes). The PTO has often talked about how to implement some community service programs more formally into what we do at Fouse. At our last meeting, we discussed using one of our class parties to do that. The February party seems like a nice time to incorporate some community service into the theme of "caring" and "friendship" that goes along with Valentine's Day. This community service will likely be a small craft or activity to be donated to a charity/community program that your Room Parents select. The Ronald McDonald House, WARM, My Very Own Blanket, Star House, Sam Bish Foundation for Pediatric Cancer, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Feridean Commons were a few of the suggestions provided to Room Parents by the PTO although they may have another charity/program in mind, which is wonderful, too! Please keep an eye out for communication from your Room Parents regarding what they have planned and any assistance they may need. If you would like to volunteer and/or attend during the party, the Room Parents will be gathering a list of attendees so that they can let the office know who to expect that day. We appreciate your support and partnership to help ensure our Valentine's Parties are a memorable event for all students! And be sure to get this party on your calendar by following the link to this event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/528798203972495/ Clothing Donations Requested: Fouse Health Clinic The school clinic has a great need for gently used clothing.
