The ever-popular Summer Camp & Activities Expo takes place Wednesday, March 7th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Westerville North High School. Admission is free. Get a head start planning activities for your kids this summer. Many vendors will be taking early-bird reservations. The grade that collects the most Box Tops will receive a Fouse Fox drawstring bag, compliments of the PTO! The contest runs now through end of day, Friday, February 23rd. Good luck to all!! Story Teller Hank Fincken Captivates Fouse Students with Tall Tales Fouse students and staff welcomed storyteller Hank Fincken to their school on February 8. Fincken, in character of Johnny Appleseed, shared some tall tale adventures concerning his travels throughout the Midwest. Pupils learned the difference between myths and tall tales, while learning about some of the history of Appleseed’s time. For more than 20 years, Fincken has toured as a living history performer in Europe, South America and the United States. Numerous cultural institutions endorse him, including the Indiana and Ohio Humanities Councils. This is one of many things the PTO is able to support because of your fundraising support! Thank you so much! Fouse Variety Show – Thank You! Wow, what a night it was! Thanks to all of our performers at the Variety Show on Friday night! They did such a great job – so talented and entertaining to watch! We would also like to express our appreciation for all of our parent and student volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this show such a fun event! Finally, thank you to Mrs. Doone and Student Council families for providing food and donations for their Bake Sale and Raffle. Please come by and see all of the "Dream Catchers" our students created! Valentine's Classroom Parties – Thank You! What great Valentine's Classroom Parties we had on Friday! Thanks very much to all parents, family members & staff who helped ensure this was a memorable event for all of our students! In addition to games, crafts & snacks, the classes also completed a community service project! The kids signed cards and sent chocolates which were dropped off at Genoa Township Fire Department & Genoa Police Department, Westerville Police Department, and all 3 Westerville Fire Department Stations. Student Council Spirit Day - Friday, 2/9 This Friday, 2/9, is Spirit Day and the theme is Valentine theme! Student Council encourages all students to join in the fun and wear some bright, fun, Valentine attire that day! Valentine's Classroom Parties - Friday, 2/9 The Lead Room Parents in each classroom are starting to plan your students' Valentine's Classroom Parties, which are scheduled for Friday, 2/9, at 2:30pm (10:30am for AM K classes). The Valentine's party will have one unified community service project. Each class will get one big card from the PTO which will be distributed to local police and fire departments. The theme for the card will be 'Thanks for Being the Heart of Our City'. The kids can sign their name and any message they would like to write on the card for our city heroes. The card should be dropped off in the Fouse Office after the party and will be distributed accordingly by the PTO. Fouse wants to let our firefighters and police officers how much we care and appreciate them keeping us safe. Please keep an eye out for communication from your Lead Room Parents regarding what they have planned for the party and any assistance they may need. If you would like to volunteer and/or attend during the party, the Lead Room Parents will be gathering a list of attendees so that they can let the office know who to expect that day. We appreciate your support and partnership to help ensure our Valentine's Parties are a memorable event for all students! GEM Award Nominations - Due Friday, 2/9 The Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Awards Program is a collaboration between Westerville Parent Council and Roush Honda of Westerville. It was created in 2002 to recognize those in our community who go above and beyond and make a difference in the lives of our students. Each year, one adult from each building, as well as several district recipients, will be honored with this prestigious award. The 2017-2018 nomination process has now begun. Please refer to the attached flier for details regarding this program. The GEM nomination form is also attached, and copies of the nomination form are also available for pick-up in the office or can be found at the WPC website http://westervilleparentcouncil.com/gem-awards-2/. Second Annual Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance - February 12 The Westerville Central Track and Field boosters will host its second annual Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance at Westerville Central High School on Monday evening, February 12, from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m. The dance is open to grades K-5.
